Givin' Me Up

(Don McNatt)
Self improvement has been a theme of the last 2 decades, and we've talked about, and attempted to clear excesses from our lives. This song is about how it feels to be labeled one of those bad habits, and left as a part of a program to improve someone's self esteem, and feeling of well being. "Dropped like a bad habit"
"Giving Me Up"

I broke a lot of coffee cups
Trying to give that habbit up
Just so dern mad, that the craving wouldn't leave me alone
I lost a lot of dollar bets
Gettin' off them cigarettes
But I Dad Blamed dun it and I'm gonna keep that battle won

So, I think I know exactly how you feel
When love becomes a habit, it ain't real
And habits don't go easy,
You can break a lot of cups
No wonder there's such a mess
While you're giving me up

I never battled alchohol
Just never liked the taste at all
But my freinds that fought it, still go to meetings every week
Could stand to lose a few more pounds,
Damn, it's hard to put those donuts down
But I'm going to get to before determination springs a leak

So, I think I know exactly how you feel
When love becomes a habit,
it ain't real
And habits don't go easy
You can break a lot of cups
No wonder there's such a mess
While you're giving me up
You're giving me up
